Research InterestsI am an Environmental Health Science PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I work in the biodiversity lab of Dr. Sally Koerner. For my dissertation research, I am working on a USDA project in Montana and Wyoming. The goal of this project is to assess the impacts of grazing management strategies on rangeland health and resiliency under multi-year drought conditions. More specifically, I am focusing on how invasive grass species may alter these interactions. I am interested in the impacts that invasive species have on native community dynamics and how these species will influence the long-term sustainability of rangelands under drought scenarios, especially given the potential effects of climate change. Over the course of my PhD research, I want to determine how invasive species will impact native plant species, insect herbivores, and the soil microbial community using field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments.
